How deep do you grind?
Standard grind is 6 to 8 inches below grade, enough for sod, mulch, or grass to grow over cleanly. If you're planting a replacement tree or pouring concrete, we go deeper for an extra fee.
What about the wood chips?
Your call. We can leave the chips backfilled into the hole (great for natural decomposition over time), spread them as mulch elsewhere on your property, or haul them away entirely.
Will my lawn be damaged?
We minimize lawn impact, but stump grinders are heavy machines. Some compaction or minor turf damage in the access path is normal. We can lay plywood for sensitive lawns on request.
Can I grind a stump near my house or fence?
In most cases yes. We assess clearance for the grinder before quoting. Very tight access (narrow gates, raised decks) may require a smaller machine and adjusted pricing.
How long does it take?
Most residential stumps grind in 30 to 60 minutes including setup and cleanup. Large stumps or multi-stump jobs may take longer.
